Well dispite all the doom and gloom merchants.

I have my apartment keys and deeds are being processed went through Unwins and all in Two and a half years from start to finish even buying off plan.

Can't fault Unwins been helpful and all the way through and kept us up to date and sent regular updates and photos.

Builders were only three months late and the build quality can't be faulted.

Builders English speaking manager was great help and led us throught the Kibtek process to get our electric metre for 520TL, also pointed us in the right direction for other goods.

Only shock was the 1520TL for the water metre which we didn't expect to be so high! but fitted the next day, it's not a rip off for the Brits either my new neighbor is a Cypriot and he paid the same.

Mermaid Furnishings made and fitted all curtains and the furnuture and delivered on time with all perfect.

Congratulations Halfful

I hope you enjoy your apartment and it is refreshing to hear a success story for once in a while.

However, don't you all think that it is a sad indictment on the situation out here when one has cause to celebrate because people have done the job that they have been paid to do, even when they are 3 months late in doing it ?

I am so glad that I only rent my place !

Regards

Paul

Halfull

Congratulations and well done for the positive post.

Like most things in life people only get to hear bad news and doom and gloom.

We too have been extremely lucky with our house purchase and after 18 months of living here are as happy as day one.

We also bought through Unwins in 2006. The villa was completed and ready within the contract date and have to say....cannot say a bad word about our builder who to this day goes out of his way to help us when needed.

Hope you will be as happy and content as we are.

Hi halfull and puppylover,

it's so nice to read that someone else on here is as happy as we are living here. I really wonder

how many people on this board are happy?

I bet there are a lot more than we think. It's just a shame they don't post now and again to let others

be aware that this is such a lovely Island in more ways than one. But they're probably out enjoying

their life, rather than reading the doom and gloom on here.

Halfull, like puppylover, I hope you'll be as happy and contented as we are, and loads of others.

all you need now is the original GC owner to rock round to bring you back down to earth with a bump....

From experience, the health care over here has been excellent. No waiting for weeks for an appointment.

Msg 1, halffull said, "deeds are being processed" is the stage when unfortunately many buyers discovered problems, e.g. a mortgage on the land. It would be nice for you to do a follow up when you have the deeds in your name because, then and only then, will you actually own the property instead of the builder.

Woodspeckie, health is good at present, but am taking out insurance which will pay out as much on death as my present UK policy but costs half the price. So o worries there.
