As an occasinal poster but a frequent observer may I make these observations ?

There is clique on this board that largely ignores non clique posters . Unless the is a post about a bar or a restaurant, . Then come the brickbats. Drink prices too high (higher than in UK?) food awful, worst meal I;ve ever had (worse than meals in some places in UK?) etc. If you don't like it don't go there again. I'm sure the owners will take on board your comments if you make them to their face.

And then every now and again there is a love in amongst the clique : I'm leaving. No don't leave youre one of us. Am I really. Yes. I love you too. Don't go. Ok I won't. We all love each other . We're all wonderful.

Are you really so unhappy living here ? If so go. We wish you luck and hope you will all find a happier place to live.

These are just honest observations !

Think you are exaggerating. For every thread about a bad restaurants there are 20 about good restaurants.

If the cost of drink is complained about as a rip off,good, as usually that is followed by people recommending places where you dont get ripped off ,result we know where to go and where not too go.

The trivia you can easily ignore.Bit like complaining to the police about a porn movie, after watching it 500 times it still disgusts me.

Most people with beefs still prefer to live here ,as no where is perfect. I think some people need the idea that they havent made a mistake reinforced with constant "best place in the world"posts.

Life isnt that cut and dry and I feel that those that cant take the bad with the good ,the positve with the negative,should themselves go home instead of those who post and discuss openly.

Hi begonia, it just makes me laugh, what you wrote is so right. Join the club and watch, read and just enjoy. If they luuuuurv each other, its only another way of showing that they need someone, where as,most of us grown away from needing everyone. There are a few 'grown ups' on here that dont take offence and are so much fun.

You make an excellent reflection of this and other forums, quantifying why many people like myself have largely given up both looking at or posting on the forums.



I initially thought that the first post by the well known anatagonist in msg 2 may have may been in an ironic way. However the later msg 31 just proves the rule that you have identified.



Over the last 5+ years I have perused the TRNC forums there have been many great debates involving the likes of cypgab, MM, mmmmmm, ericseans, Pt Pike, johnnyforeigner, dutchcrusader and many others. Unfortunatley this and other forums have sunk to their lowest ebb during the last year or so with the likes of deecyprus.



It is sad they are allowed to bring the forums down to the point that newish members like yourself feel that they do not wish to be involved. It would be far better for the forum management to dispense with the known reprobates and allow the forum to flourish in a positive way.

On a slightly different note I often wonder how some people have so much time to spare and have written thousands of messages on this board. Do they spend all day on the computer? There is so much more to life e.g socialising with real friends not those in cyber space. I suppose you have to feel sorry for them if they have such a limited life.

I think your comments are very unfair, you or I for that matter don't know peoples circumstances. Does it ever occur to you that some people may for instance be working all day using their computer and switch to Cyprus 44 for a bit of welcome respite. Others may not have a wonderful social network and perhaps too shy to make friends. Or perhaps they are incapacitated and unable to get out and about.

So really not on saying they have a limited life.

flossie - your profile shows you are old enough to have learned compassion - there are agarophobics, I know of one man who is housebound whilst his father is dying (slowly) in the next room - his computer is a lifeline to keeping his sanity, some folk are disabled, recovering from surgery, housebound for a plethora of reasons.......I'm on team begonia by the way!
