what can i say loverly setting a refurbished greek church in the court yard amongst the bungalows, big swimming pool and great views out over lapta too the sea

the meze was all seperatly priced but the waiter said he'd do it as a set meal as along with a mix grill

we didnt get a proper meze just dips bread chips and salad then 4 small plates of helim one each

then we cut the 4 mix grills to 2 to share as we thought it would be to much, all the food and service was great. But then came the bill we got charged 48tl for the 4 small plates of helim and 8tl per SMALL glass of wine i didnt see any other parts of the bill just the total, for 4 of us was 294TL i walked off as my cypriot mate complained to no avail! this all explained why we was the only people in the place, the bill ruined what would of been a lovely evening.

has anyone else been there and how was your experience???

We went there with friends 3 years ago asked for a bottle of wine, they only had Aphrodite! (yuck) and it was warm. So we decided we would have 4 Brandy sours and 2 beers the bill came to 110lira. When we questioned this we were told that the Brand Sours were 25 lira each and to add insult to injury they were the worst I have ever tasted.

Never went back.

A beautiful setting and place but they will never have any customers as long as they try to rip people of.

Msgs 1 and 2,

Moral of the story :

Do not order anything from anywhere (bar, restaurant, shop etc.) without asking the price first, otherwise they can charge you whatever they want, and some of them will!

Sad but very true.

I'm sure if they told you Brandy Sour was 25TL before you ordered , you would have walked out.

Where is this place? I would like to have a look at it before it goes bust!!!

Regards,

Ozbey.

Ozbey,

If you go past Lapta Post office heading east, just past the Eczane on the right turn right there. Follow the mountain road up until you see a water tank with graffitti all over it, turn right there and it is signposted. The roads are very narrow. The place itself is really worth a look with fabulous views.

And you are correct we should have asked the price first. A lesson learned!

25tl for a brandy sour?? Are they in cloud cuckoo land? I certainly won't be going there. BUT price list first or don't bother that is my motto. If anything is 'priceless', I walk away!

We live nearby and often go down for a swim in their pool - only ever have a diet coke there these days as we too have been shocked at the price of a fairly mediocre (is that spelt right?) meal. Went last week with friends & a few meses & drinks came to 140tl....too much! shame as the setting is beautiful!

I don't think they need customers, the greek church looks after them pretty well.

I agree with all the comments above. Got totally stitched up there and will certainly never go back.

What a shame that these people haven't the sense to lower the prices. It would, I'm sure, be busy most nights if they did.

Such a waste of a fantastic setting.

Let's hope the owner reads Cyprus44 and uses some common sense.

I had a pretty disapointing experience there. Food was meagre and average, yet the bill was about 30% more than we haid paid anywhere else in NC.

The waiter at first appeared welcoming and great fun but he eventually became a complete pain in the a..e

The plus is that it is a nice setting and the Greek church is in wonderful condition

I live opposite and there has been no lights for quite a while. At this moment it is in darkness. Sometimes the lights would be on until 3-4am.
