I visited TRNC last year, flying into Ercan. Our passports were stamped by immigration. We are due to return this year and will this time fly into Larnaca. Are we likely to encounter problems at Larnaca airport ?

NO PROBLEMS AT ALL , I HAVE GOT DOZENS OF NORTH CYPRUS STAMPS IN MINE, AND HAVE PASSED THROUGH LARNACA A COUPLE OF TIMES AND NEVER HAD ANY COMMENTS FROM PASSPORT CONTROL, AS A EEC CITIZEN YOU ARE ALLOWED FREE PASSAGE WITHIN ANY EEC MEMBER COUNTRIES.

IF YOUR VISIT IS IN CONNECTION WITH PROPERTY PURCHASE IN THE NORTH DO NOT CARRY ANY DOCUMENTS IN WITH YOU, THERE HAS BEEN A NUMBER OF PEOPLE DETAINED BY THE SOUTH POLICE WITH INFO REGARDS PROPERTY BUYING(DEEDS/CONTRACTS) ETC, THIS COULD RESULT IN A COURT APPEARANCE AND POSSIBLE CHARGES RELATING TO THIS, SO BE WARNED!!

Anyone arriving at Ercan airport in North Cyprus can request that immigration stamp their visa on a plain piece of paper rather than a page in their passport. Simply ask “Lütfen gevsek kaguitda”, which means “On a loose sheet, please”. Staff usually have a pile of loose papers ready and waiting!
