I need one or more *special* blank DVD's. Specifications: DVD+R DL or DVD-R DL (speed 2.4x Double Layer, for Video 240 min or Data 8.5 GB). Did anyone out there happen to see them in TRNC? Thank you in advance for reactions!

Hans, Just asked in Laconic, they don't have them. I can always get you some from the South side next time I go - but it could be a month before I have to go...

Hans Please phone Ufuk from Baseline Computers on 0533 830 6255, he's doing a day return flight to Istanbul this Saturday and will look for you but has no idea of price. Tell him you're a friend of Richard (the cripple) and I know he'll do his best for you. He has copy of the spec you require. Richard

RE msg 6, KeithCaley: (...) I can always get you some from the South side next time I go (...) => Thanks for the offer, Keith, but the DVD's must be written on the North side of the recordable layers...

Hans you do not say what you want the double layer blank DVD for, but for example if some one was trying to copy a double layer DVD, there are plenty of programs that will shrink the double down to single size and put on a normal DVD.

RE msg 10, Graham: Thanks, Graham, I know. But I want to make a personal copy of my Apple Macintosh OS X DVD before anything else. And the Operating System cannot be compressed - I'd lose essential code.
