Noticed the post about importing a scooter under the classic car rules. What constitutes a classic car in TRNC? I have a ten year old Alfa Romeo - obviously Alfa's are enthusiasts cars but would this class as a classic? Any ideas?

Hatty: Thanks for that. All pretty interesting. Perhaps a little hard on some of the earlier kit cars though which are true classics in their own right like the Rochdale Olympic, Lotus Elan etc that were only sold in kit form for tax purposes and have become real classics. Don't understand the bit about making a donation equiv to a monthly salary - who's salary are we talking about?

You need to speak to Tamer Konat at the Classic and Sports Car Club of North Cyprus. He can give you all the information you need and sort out the paperwork. The Club issues import licences for classics on behalf of the Government. Tam's number is 0533 861 1188 and he speaks perfect English.
