We have twelve huge trees in our garden, and although we have been here five years, most of our time has been spent getting our villa to the standard we wanted, and not the standard that our builder left it in. Now we intend to learn the best practice to care for and nurture our trees, which have been neglected for some years. This year we made a plan of the garden and marked what the yield was for each tree, so we can compare in future years. We found an excellent e-book by Brian Chatterton on the Mediterranean Garden Society web site. Its about thirteen pages long & printable from the internet. I found it very helpful, and I’m sure all of you with olive trees will too.

Last year we started to prune the trees, and now we are gaining more knowledge and confidence we will continue this winter. We are also going to try experimenting with watering one of them, and also feeding. I will let you know our results next year!
