Well, The people have spoken. Worst. Election results for Labour for 40 years

Boris expected to take over as mayor of London.

Gordon Brown must have the message now that we won't tolerate more stealth taxes.

We wont have any more PFI debt. We want this motley bunch out!

Well we've had the court jester, may as well have Jimmy Tarbuck for Prime Minister.

Anyone fancy coming back to the UK to live. Dont even think about it. Ruined by Labour.

Do you have a message for Gordon from sunny North Cyprus?

You may have given him an idea now, it seems that with no extradition treaty he would be safe, as are the reported other CROOKS.

But do you know the really scary bit, they will all stand up and say 'party not in crisis' 'all behind Gordon' ' electors will understand what we have done for (the formerly Great) Britain at the parlimentary elections' 'Grodon will lead party to election vicotry' - and these people get elected to run a country!

Head in the sand will prevail, and even more scary, once they increase tax credits etc, the masses will probably still give them a 'nearly ran' result.

Only person in Labour who has a grip on the situation is Tony, f@ck up beyond all recognotion with everyone elses money, quit and line up a 'fall guy' to take the hit come the election, back to the scary bit, Gordon (who Labours Lord Desai said was only put on this earth to make Tony Blair look good) actually applied for the job .................... er hello Gordon!!

But remember, it's not actually the Labour parties fault, they were elected by the 'almost educated' - Everyone had the chance in the last election to vote UKIP or UKIP and start to change things, but naively most didn't.

brian 24001,

Spoken like a true gentleman!

What do you know about sea water swimming pools in NC?

If the TRNC Government bring in a swimming tax, will seawater be excluded?

Should ex UK politicians and Company Directors, be banned from using them?

'almost educated' - that is a generalisation and condescending is it not?

If the Labour Govt had not tried to become a centre right party they would not have lost a large chunk of their supporters votes - including educated ones. The Tories would have faired no better and as for UKIP - they have come and will go as quickly as they arrived. I am surprised someone who would like to be governed by an independant - lets live in our own silo - party wishes to contribute to a N Cyprus forum.

What was so Great about Britain in the recent past - I would have thought no one on this forum would have been about before WW1 and then if you research and take a balanced view of what it was really like you find it was great socially - only for a minority.

You reap what you sow and many of the UK societies problems today were spawned in the "I am alright Jack" times under the Thatcher years.

'almost educated' - it's all relative

'What was so Great about Britain in the recent past' - on the timeline I am used to working in, 'in the recent past', there was no massive population, or burning of hydrocarbons, law breakers were hung (ok, prob got a few wrong but sometimes a few have to die for the benefit of the many), food was in abundance, land was available to all (well the rich anyway, and what would a poor person do with land, wouldn't be able to afford to look after it), and if you didnlt like someone, you shot him and nicked his country - now that is Great.

'under the Thatcher years' if someone stood up and shouted 'cummon over here of you think your hard enough' they had their best ships sunk and best planes shot down, now if someone comes knocking the country is handed over. If the Argentinians invaded Falklands now, Brown would surender the UK mainland rather than do the right thing.

Labour didn't even 'sell out' the Uk, they 'gave' it away!

Don't get me wrong, Britain was good to me, but it isn't being good now to my peers. I am a firm believer that there is nothing wrong with funding 100% (and I don't just mean surviving, I mean a good living) the menatlly ill, the disabled, the terminally ill, pensioners presciptions/operations, you get the drift. What does draw my sword (though an L96 is more useful) is that non contributors, who were not even 'European' a couple of years ago never mind Anglo Saxon are able to get the same a a lifelong contributor. Nothing wrong if you contribute, but you try going to their countries and getting a hip replacement!

It's not 'Great' and as I have said on another thread the 'Great' needs to be dropped before some Brussels beaurocrat stops worrying how many baked beans are in a tin and fines the UK millions for miss-representation.

Right, gotta go, need to increase the global carbon foot print a little more!

Wyn:

Yes opinions without hard facts - which another educated person could consider or counter!!?? Generalisations are dangerous as certain groups found out in the middle of the last century.
