Do F1 fans think Bernie Ecclestone has a button to make cars undrivable - to make a Championship more 'interesting' ? Or is our Jenson feeling the pressure?! Looks like 10 points for Rubens this weekend and Jenson scoring nought.. The final race will probably start with just 4 points between 'em .. Will Jenson 'deserve' to win ? Do you care ? ;)

Hi Rigsby.. I'm NOT sure Jenson is to totally to blame.. Ross Brawn - team boss : "The lack of balance which Jenson experienced on his set of wet tyres was unexpected and proved costly as we believed it was possible to get through without using intermediates which proved with hindsight to be the wrong strategy." May be not all setup info is getting through?! - I REALLY don't see JB being CONSISTENTLY 2 secs a lap off RB's pace .. in the SAME car... albeit with different setups .. Agree with you re RB eserving to win.. bt he chose to be the bridesmaid.. he could have gone to another team .. JB stayed with Honda ( OK the money was good!) and these gus have been HIS team for YEARS.. Could Ross Brawn consider keeping RB and 'dumping' Jenson for Rosberg, if Jenson doesn't win the Championship ! ?

I dont think Button is that good a driver he got a good advantage at the start due to Ross Brawn and technology All the big boys tried to complain but Brawn had interpreted things correctly and they all had to play catch up but as soon as they all caught up Jenson has looked like an also ran

How did Jenson have a better car than Rubens? Surely they have the same technology etc.

I am a little disapointed with Jenson over the last 2 seasons. There always seems to be some excuse for his poor showing and inconsistency there just seems no passion there, just look at Vittell when he came in the man was so annoyed he started throwing 25 grand steering wheels about not that that will win him the race but just watch him fight this afternoon. Good luck to Rubens he drove well I thought.

In the first part of the season the car had features that suited Jenson's driving style more.. he is the smoothest driver in F1 and brakes late and during the first part of a corner... So Button drives a lot like Alain Prost Rubin's style is now suited to the new brake compound they use. He doesn't continue to slow the car down as he enters a corner. Rubin's is STILL better at setting up a car, but his setup doesn't suit Jenson's Yesterday in Q2 Jenson's car was running wide at the front - understeer - Rubens wasn't.. what I DON'T understand is WHY Jenson wasn't called in -to change to the intermediate - ( not quite so wet - tyre ) We saw some great wet specialists Hamilton/ Vettel and Button go out .. I'm hoping it is hotter and bone dry as I believe you'll see a lot of the guy,s from the back come through - if they aren't taken out . If it is dampish my crazy tip is to watch out for Sutil.. he's FAST, and if he can concentrate he might surprise..

Great news, though. I was at Silverstone this year and a little disappointed in his performance. Have got a dog called Mr Jenson Button, but we do tend to call him Bobo.

I reckon that the best drive of the day was Lewis. That guy is going to be around winning podium places a lot longer than anyone else that is driving F1 at the moment. I know some may think that this is nothing to do with the TRNC but just for you Mark I watched it on Dopi TV inside my Villa in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. AJ

Dear AJ You PAID to watch what you can get for FREE in "TRNC" ... ? )) You think hitting poor old Rubens, causing him to have a puncture, is a 'good drive'.. For sure Lewis is going to be champion (again) - as is Vettel Let's not forget that Lewis drives for a team with huge resources and Brawn looked like they were finished three weeks before the beginning of the season - shoe-horned in a Merc engine - had to let hundreds of folk go - AND ( I THINK) became the first team to win in the maiden season..

Well he won I am glad as he is British but to be honest I agree with some others it going to be Hamilton that will win the drivers championship again. Ayrton Senna was and will always be my favorite.

Well Lewis is five years younger and SHOULD have more opportunity - but Jenson is VERY fit and as long as he has a great car, I'd wager he is still more mature than Lewis, and more capable of knowing how to win - may be not as entertaining .. I look forward to seeing both of them in great cars and hot team mates next year.. I hope Rubens is retained by either Brawn or Williams for another year -as he knows how to setup a car and and *I'm* hoping he can finish second this year.

Well all in all it has been an interesting season. Mark Lewis is consistent and he will get better. If he has a good car to drive then he will drive it to his best ability. I forgot where he started on the grid (maybe 17th) but he achieved a podium finish unlike Button that started further up the grid but never made the podium. AJ

Lewis-V-Jenson? Jenson is smoother and more 'car kind'. He is also less prone to 'incidents' than Lewis, who still get's the odd 'red mist'! Remember also that Lewis has had Kers. Lewis actually had an easier drive through to 3rd due to a lot of others incidents or retirements. Jenson had quite a few hairy overtaking manoeuvres to make. All in all though looking to be an interesting 2010 season. Frontrunners, Jenson, Lewis, Sebastian,... but what difference will it make when the driver changes are finalised? Some interesting ones out there. Kubica, Alonso,.. and a few other potentials out there. Possibly the most competitive line up we have seen for years!

Jenson drove a fantastic race. I usually find F1 boring and hadn't watched a race for years, but that race was really good.

Sao Paolo *I* think is always my favourite track in the F1 calender and is also the same for most of the drivers. Montoya still holds the lap record. Tootie

ROBnJO 'Remember also that Lewis has had Kers' Don't forget that KERS also provides a weight penalty and more importantly detracts from the aerodynamic stability of the car. So there are negatives and positives and it is how the team offset the differences that make the difference. AJ

re 17 AJ >>I forgot where he started on the grid (maybe 17th) but he achieved a podium finish unlike Button that started further up the grid but never made the podium. << True, but IF you remember Hamilton's pit crew changed his strategy to take advantage of the safety car - which would bring great rewards later on - he didn't even understand WHY he was called in - and asked on the radio ! YES, Hamilton drove well, but it was his TEAMs decision that brought the extra places.. most of his passing was in the pits ;)

Mark With respect to your first post I think you would be surprised what teams can do with telemetry these days , not only can they receive important data from the cars but they can also control certain parameters of the car from the pit lane. I do not know how sophisticated it is now but many years ago before I got into the Oil & Gas industry I was working for a company (and another two after that) that were developing satellite telemetry systems for F1 racing car teams. As you well know the KERS system can be controlled from the pit lane also other parameters such as engine revs, and a few other interesting parameters can be also. Interesting technology. I wish I could get back into it again because it totally fascinates me. AJ

Dear AJ F1 teams can do software updates/ resets to the car, from the UK, as it hurtles around in a race in Brazil ! I'm STILL wondering about the real reason Hamilton lost gears TWICE in Brazil last year....

AJ & Mark A couple of months ago a client was telling me of his experiences with his Aston, fitted with telemetry. It spluttered to a stop on the M4, a call to AM resulted in him being told to sit there, in neutral, touch nothing and leave it to them. 30 seconds later the engine fired up, on it's own, and off he went. Weeks later his wife loaded the car at a supermarket, but after returning the trolley, had lost the security fob. After a call and some security questions, AM confirmed the car was in Tesco at xxx, and it unlocked for her. There was me thinking my 'Smartnav' was clever! Rob

I am the sad F1 fan yes Jenson deserved to win Christ wins in a season that more than Lewis did last season.. He wasnt the playboy the press made him out to be. Bloody hell if I just got a drive in an F1 car cos I would be flashing it about. The boy done good and he is a Brit. Now weve held the title for 2 years running Whether Lewis can take it back next season who knows. Makes life in the Fez that bit more interesting on a Sunday anyway
