Speeding fines and urgency of paymeny

When leaving friday I was told at the airport I had 2 speeding tickets. I am not back until April does anyone know whether the fines will go up if not settled quickly or should I try and arrange for someone to go and pay them for me??

You must get someone to pay them for you asap, otherwise you will be stopped at Ercan next time you arrive, and asked to pay, or, pay a much larger amount if not paid within 24 hrs. This happened to one of my sons this year.

You Get two weeks when they issue a ticket to you after that it doubles. Not sure how it works with speed camera fines though.

Lazza 1,

Just relax, nothing to worry about.

When you come back you will be told to go to the police station and pick up your ticket. From that moment onwards you have two weeks to pay the fine, otherwise you have a further two weeks but the fine doubles. No one else can pay the fine and accept the points on your behalf.

If you do not pay during the extended period either, you cannot pay afterwards and have to wait for court summons (if they ever come). I have a collection of 7 unpaid tickets since August 2007 and no sign of them yet.
