| Why is it sad? He had a full life, and sure we will miss him but we all have to die.
He was married to the beautiful Moira Shearer (of the Red Shoes) and my thoughts
are with her now. Lovely guy, and great thinker. |

Never really knew of him until I saw his documentary about the sinking of the BismarCk as a teenager.

| Coachie- his Father was a very brave naval officer, who commanded the armed merchant cruiser Rawalpindi. He prevented the German battlecruisers breaking out into the Atlantic. He spotted their presence and radioed the Admiralty. They told him to surrender, which he refused and took part in a fight, hopelessly outnumbered & outgunned which resulted in the Rawalpindi being sunk after a 40 minute battle. However the delay meant that the two German battlecruisers withdrew.
Ludovic Kennedy was a man of integrity, just like his Dad. |

| Oh, I did not know Moira had died, and I should have as she was my childhood heroine. I liked and respected them both. We seldom see their like. Thanks for info. re Ludovic's father, Arthur. Very impressive. |
