Does anyone know the price of the ceiling fans with lights attached somewhere local, south not an option. A friend is coming over and wonders whether it is worth buying them in the UK and risking excess baggage charges/breakage or buying them here. Thx in advance.

Poogle

I've seen them in most light shops in Girne (and there are lots of them) but didn't price them up. Spend a morning wandering round Town.

Hi Richard

Thanks for that, would love to have a shop around but I am confined to barracks. I have seconded my husband to check out Elektrotur later today.

Thx Mel

WEe bought ours from Electrokur in Girne. Very good with 3 fan speeds and remote control. Useful when hot but not enough for aircon. Silent and really cools the room at night.

The electrical shop opposite belvu sells them as does the electrical shop in the parade near Severners.

Hi Mel

I bought mine from Tektan about 18 months ago. they have 3 speeds and 3 lights attached. they were 150 tl at the time and i got a 10tl discount on each one (i bought 3) and they included all the light bulbs. i think the price may have risen now but at the time they were cheaper and better quality than electrokur. i think the ones from the uk tend to be a bit smaller than the ones here and of course there is the hassle of bringing them here. hope that helps.

Thanks Denise, thats great - seems pretty reasonable as the ones this chap is looking at in the UK are £50+ each anyway with the hassle of bringing them over.

bring them in from the uk - they are not that heavy and much cheaper than over here - also, ones sold in the UK will have to follow EU safetly laws, which the ones over here may not....

Mine cost £100 each from Elektrotur in Lefkosa, this was in May, I had bought some the same the previous October and they were £80 each then, but they are good quality lights/fans and remote control.
