DD Just read about this on Nigels forum, its dreadful. But I really think that someone should name the bar where this took place, also the police should be informed. Next time someone could die!

Unfortunately nurseawful, to name the place would leave us open to a law suit, and unfortunately can't be proved

we had a few drinks and left the bar shortly

we woke up in the car on the drive at home at almost 6am

never thought nothing more of it to be honest until i saw this thread.

i put it down to too much drink.

although it has never happend to me before, and i feel ive drank alot more other times.

I have always disliked seeing people drinking beer etc out of a bottle but a young woman who used to work for me explained that it is easy to keep your thumb over the top of the bottle to stop it getting spiked, what a world we live in.

Some people think that the drug of choice to spike someones drink is Ecstasy, however ecstatsy is rather expensive and not easily come by, so it's not a usual drug to use. The obvious choice is either GHB or Rohypnol, these are taseless and colourless so not detectable. GHB is normally out of the system before morning but Rohynol takes a bit longer, so, if you feel you have been drugged, make sure you get to the doctors as soon as possible and request a blood test. Once the blood test has been done and proves you were then drugged, then and only then can you name the place you went to. Hopefully, if enough people start being proactive about this disgusting behaviour, maybe something can be done about it!

Only you know how much alcohol your body can handle, and if you don't think you've had enough to make you so ill or drunk...get yourself down to the doctors as soon as possible, and remember, someone may be getting or raped or is dead from this!!

Richard....i have no idea which drug was used in this case as the ladies it happened to didn't get a drug test. I just hope this thread has highlighted this growing problem.

I remember when I first went to sea - I didn't get assaulted in any way but I used to fall asleep after heavy drinking and when I woke up, some disgusting swine had been sick all over me!!

David,

Your message 5. Who would waste an expensive drug on an ugly bugger like you? If some girl had wanted to take advantage of you, she wouldn't have needed to do any more than just ask.

I'm not trying to cause any trouble here, but did this 'definately' happen? and was it 'definately' a date rape drug? Did anything happen to the ladies in question - where they actually assaulted?

If yes to all the above then the bar should be named and the police should be informed, so this problem can be stopped before it is able to start properly.

This is the first time I have ever heard of such an incident in Northern Cyprus so to say it is a growing problem seems a little over the top at this stage.

As I said, I'm not posting this to cause trouble - but the facts seem a little vague to pass judgement.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but you have to wonder if it might not be a cop-out...

ttoli,

yr msg 17.

I don't doubt that this happened to you, I only fail to understand what anyone would stand to gain by doing it, unless it was one of your mates with a v.warped sense of humour.

Ask yourself - would you buy a drug for money, which it is no doubt illegal to be in possession of, only to put it in a total strangers drink, just to watch him fall over? I can see where a rapist would do this to a female but where's the mileage in giving it to you (no ofence)? Perhaps they were looking to roll you for your wallet?

did this 'definitely' happen? Yes it did

and was it 'definitely' a date rape drug? No idea as the lady did not wish to go to hospital the day after.

No one was assaulted no one attempted anything untoward the lady concerned collapsed soon after ingesting the drink the huge effects came on some 15 - 20 mins afterwards and lasted several hours, the following day she was prone to bouts of weeping BUT CAN REMEMBER EVERYTHING QUITE CLEARLY !!

She is now fine with no after-effects.

Lapta 29 - message 21:

So basically what you are saying is that it wasn't definately a date rape drug and none of this has been documented with the hospital or the police... and no one wants to say where this happened or who it happened too?

So basically this whole thread was complete waste of time that has served no purpose other than for us all to hear No1D's Rohypnol Jokes (which are very good by the way)!!!

Saying things like 'it is more common than you would believe' and 'it is a growing problem' are slightly exagerated considering the evidence from this one 'incident' (which may actually not have been a date rape drug at all).

Moral of the story - Never drink local spirits (or Efes), you never know what's in them!

Cheers!!!!

what would the point of saying it happened in xyz bar be if the person concerned does not wish to go to the police or hospital but would rather get on with life

Naming the bar may cause damage to their reputation and would serve no purpose daisy posing it here sought to issue a warning that this happened here in trnc,

I think it may have been ecstasy ( that is my opinion i have no evidence ) but if it serves as a warning all well and good if people wish to ignore it all well and good should some seek to detract or make light of it each to their own .

The lady conecerned has made a full recovery with no lasting side effects so

This thread may as well be closed the subject has been addressed

Now if you were all 'boring' like me and didn't touch alcohol and didn't go to bars, you would be all safe and sound. Of course, I could be in danger if someone spiked my coffee! I drink plenty of that - but I wouldn't think I was worth it.

But to conclude I am not sure what the message of this thread is. Beware of someone, somewhere with something, all of which are unamed. Most of us with a soucon of common sense know that anyway - that is why we are still alive.

So come on, girls - take care of yourselves.

=> What a load of b*ll - the whole thread. No name, no evidence, no nothing - just words forming a(nother) rumour in TRNC. A rumour worth nothing. Last rumour: the world is a dangerous place, so ladies don't go out. There are men out there. What a laugh - the whole tread.

just to close the matter,

The owner and their partner tonight visited the lady in question, they have told her that they took what happened very seriously and are taking steps to try to prevent this happening again, they have been told their is no liability for the incident levelled at them or the establishment and the lady and her family will continue to patronise the place.

Two friends visited a bar, probably the one above. Fortunate that there was 2 of them and they were able to get away, although quite unwell for next 24 hours.

There are obviously issues of slander/libel and poses problems for issuing names without facts.

However this bar is in Alsancak and has been mentioned a number of times on this forum about the double standards of charging!!!! Quite near a fish and chip shop too.

By reputation this bar is not a place to visit for unaccompanied ladies.
