What has happened, we cannot understand

We visit regularly the TRNC and were here just a week ago, we stopped in a small village petrol station and noticed a lovely looking local restaurant next door, we asked the lady petrol attendant if it was good and she waved her hand and said no, better try another one which she recomended, we did and it was OK but we decided to try the one she did not recomend before we came back home, and it was really magic, the food was great the owners very attentive, it is sad that things like this have cought up with life in North Cyprus, this was not us english by the way it was T/C's, am I glad we went by our own instincts and didnt rely on recomendation, sorry to all who want to dissect each topic but we will not name and shame, what we said is quite enough, just use your own judgement more when you visit in future, it seems that our values and jealousys have cought up with the locals

You don't need to name the lady but if the restaurant is that good you should at least share this info.

So what if the attendant may have a beef with the restaurant or with ex-pats using it. If it is good then recommend it....otherwise you are wasting forum user’s valuable time!!

Thanks for the input. Things have changed and you are right to do what you want to do without recommendations or despite them. But I bet if you named the good one then 50% would agree and 50% would say it is rubbish! You can not win on here but it is nice to see you pass on your personal comments. Thanks.
