Having spent 5 plus years in the TRNC we now find ourselves in a position that we will only be spending 6-8 weeks in the TRNC. We initially thought that we would see the end of our time out there and had all intentions in doing so. However due to personal circumstances(health)we now find ourselves having to spend most of our time here in the UK.We decided early on our arrival that we wanted animals so had 2 dogs and a cat from KAR never any regrets. Now with these changes in our circumstances we are bringing our animals to the UK. We went to the Quarintine kennels and the price for 2 medium dogs and a cat £5800 this includes all needles, boarding etc etc.On top of this is the flight costs from TRNC to Manchester. We are fortunate enough that we can do this. So whats the purpose of this post ?? The next time you see that sad eyed ,bag of bones, that brings a tear to your eye and a tug on your heart strings. WHAT WILL YOU DO IF YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES CHANGE ???

Bill - a lot of peoples circumstances have changed - mine included... Seems more and more people are moving away from the TRNC and it is proving almost impossible to re-home pets, as the cost of taking them with you is prohibitive.... Good luck back in blighty...

Bill - well done you in taking such a responsible viewpoint on this. As you say, you are fortunate enough to be able to do this. Hattikins actually posted on here recently saying she'd love a dog but is mindful of what she would do with him when they travel and, I assume, if ever they had to return to the UK. As you rightly say, think (at least) twice when these poor unfortunates turn up at your door - I know it's difficult and can be heartbreaking at times. Good luck back in UK. Jean
