Some people complain that restaurants do not offer anything different and new, so here goes!

A 'Hangi' is the traditional Maori (NZ) way of cooking in the ground. ANZAC day 2010 falls on Sunday 25th April. A well known Restaurant West of Girne is happy to 'host' this memorable day for this feast. The maximum customers is limited to 30 Pax. The price will be in most peoples budget. Any interest shown now would be of great help. Exact details and confirmation of bookings to be announced far nearer to the date.

Thanks all

Richard

Tootie, Sloan & Hippo

It's put down with Lamb and root vegetables though pork & chickens can also be included. Not really a veg option as the meat is 'steamed' alongside, depending how strict you are. The pebbles, fist size will come from the beach and hardwood is used, the whole parcel wrapped in banana leaves which are in abundance.

Hi Brinsley, it sounds like a fantastic event, and it was a serious question about the vegetarian option, but have just realised that we will be in Barcelona on 24th March, so won't be able to make it this time, but will definitely be up for it if the event is repeated sometime when we are there.
