| At last I manged to get to the bottom of this matter. The relevant regulation is AE 201/97 published in the official gazette on 14th March 1997. All cars must carry a first aid kit which must have bandage for wounds (Yara Bandi) and the thin cloth for wrapping round the wound (Sargi Bezi), scissors, safety pin etc. "etc" is actually in the regulations and not my summary. Fire extinquishers are compulsory only for public vehicles and the size is specified in accordance with the capacity of the vehicle. ismet |

| At last, an answer. Mr Policeman better watch out next time as I'm now armed with ammunition that I can point at to show I do not need a fire extinguisher in my Toyota Yaris and that I won't stand for 96YTL on the spot fine. Next time if a complaint does not work, a court case just might. Thankyou Ismet. |
