My wife and I are visiting between 4th and 11th November 2009 and would like to play golf with any members. We are average golfers off 12 and 17 handicaps, we are early 60's and coming to N Cyprus for our anniversary, staying at Malpas Hotel. It would be appreciated if you could sign us in to make it more affordable.

Thanks for the information. Will check out Fez's bar when we get there.

We are looking for cheaper golf, it costs double when we both play! Pensioners you know, it's tough here in the UK. What do you mean by 'normal course fee'?

Woolie

If you are looking for a LOT cheaper round of golf why not try the course at CMC which is located near Guzelyurt.

Yes it is my mobile and is the correct number, do ring when you come out.

Gail does play although a 36 h/c she is progressing really well.

Woolie

There is no comparison between Korineum Golf & Country Club and Guzelyurt (Cengiz Topel Golf Club) so I wouldn't waste your journey. You can read a little about Cengiz here http://www.cypnet.co.uk/ncyprus/people/sports/golf/index.html and you can carry out a 'virtual walk' of the Korineum Golf course here http://www.sunsetvalleyvillas.com/Korineum%20Golf%20&%20Country%20Club.htm.

If you just turn up there are usually members around that will be willing to sign you in. All the members I have met are very friendly.

sidspinkfloyd;

Because you haven't been here long I'll cut you some slack but do not belittle CMC.

Before a multi millionaire decided to spend his money on a vanity project CMC was the only game in town.

It has been going in various forms for over sixty years and even today with a small membership and no sugar daddy it thrives on its own small level. Yes it's cheap and cheerful but the unpaid committee does its best with few resources.

Korineum is wonderful but given the level of investment it should be.

CMC on the other hand is just a small unassuming enterprise with friendly members and no pretences, people like you it doesn't need and can do without.

Scoop,

Also sidspinkfloyd didn't read woollie's post properly it's their first time in North Cyprus and I am sure that they would and in fact should come over to the West and see this side of the island. The drive to CMC itself is worth the journey.

Message 19 Have you ever played at CMC?
