It's such a great way to keep in touch etc., share news/views and photo's.

What does everyone think of FB? Is it good or bad? Some of my friends have mixed views.

I joined as a request to see someone's photo, the next day I had 100 emails from facebook! I put it in 'junk' and never went back, but some people are now saying they are getting a request from me to be their friend? Want nothing to do with it.

That can be very frustrating. I too am inundated with emails and I havent found a way to stop them. On the whole I think it can be fun, provided it is used in the right way.



I only raised the subject because I noticed a group on FB Cyprus44 advertised on here but I cannot get into it. Does it still exist?

I use facebook to keep up to date with only people I know - dont use the applications (you have control over these) as they are loaded with bugs and a total waste of time. Do this and you will only get facebook notifications from your friends. Only yesterday had a bug going round which came from through as a message from a friend saying that I was caught on camera and to watch the video- so beware.

I am on Facebook and no complaints but I hardly ever get inbvolved with the numerous games. What is all this rage about Farm Ville? What do I know about it? I heard that it got banned by a Turkish Court because it was selling farm products without a license or something rediculous like that.

I use Facebook to keep up to date with all my nieces and their love lives!!! But joking aside a great way to keep up with friends and family. I have never had any problems with it.

Anyone reading this DO NOT OPEN any suspicious video links sent by friends as it is a worm and sends messages to all of your facebook contacts. Think it got through Mcafee anti-virus on my friends computer but then not sure what protection she has. My internet this morning when loaded detected 6 worms/trojans but has captured them...

The thing about face book is that you put personal stuff on there. I know for a fact that employers are using face book to(a) check up on their staff (b) vetting future employees. Moral of this story, if you do not want people to know what you get up to, don't put it on face book.

you can set your profile to private so that only your group of friends can view. all searchers can see is your picture and your friends pictures.

Actually, if you go into settings, you can change it so that you don't get any unwanted emails at all, although it's good to get some letting you know when someone has answered a post you made! As for having loads of strange folk asking you to be their friend, simply change the settings so that only friends can see you...quite simple really and really is a super (free) way of connecting with long lost friends and family. If you make these certain changes to your profile, NOONE can see your profile...including your employer!!



Jeannie...i am flattered that you might think someone is trying to impersonate me, but i can assure you, Tara is a close friend, so it's more likely that we kind of think alike....

I'm a member and think it's great for catching up with old friends and keeping in touch. Only friends with people I know and don't get 100's of emails so it is all to do with your privacy settings.
