Had my car bumper done a week ago and they ( the garage ) stuck the number plate on BUT last Sunday I was at Pyla when I noticed that the plate had come off.

One of the hunters,shotgun over shoulder and hare in a carrier bag,was passing by and asked what was wrong.

When I told him about the number plate missing he said '' No problem '', and whipped out his mobile and after speaking said '' you have coffee man come now ''. Two or three minutes later along came a man who measured the space on the bumper and of he went.

Within a half hour he was back with a new number plate,put it on the car and charged me 20 ytl which allowed me to continue over to the south.

Would you have got that on a Sunday in UK ?

There are such helpful people over here, nothing seems to much trouble

I have always found all the Turkish Cypriot people I have met extremely helpful and friendly. What a lovely post. Glad you got it sorted out so easily!
