no need to take a test again, she would need pictures ,her existing license and money to pay for it,depending on how many years.

In Kyrenia, the place is where you pay your tax, first left straight after fountain rounabout,200 yards on the left.GELIR VERGI DAIRESI iS WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.

You can collect the forms yourself. Then comes the next problem....they are in Turkish. If you have a Turkish speaking friend who can translate then all well and good. If not goto the Driving School close to Girne Market. They will do it for you.

As for cost, it could be anyhting now. Its been a few years since I did ours and it was 240TL for 10 years.

Went to get my license in Jan. Filled in the form , took it back, they checked my passport & was then told I could not apply for a license until I had temp. residency.

Is this still correct?

If its the first time she will have applied for a driving licence in TRNC, then she will have to go to Lefkosa. she will need the form to be filled in, 2 passport photos. Copy of passport, copy of (both sides) pink hard driving licence and the green paper licence. If she has not got residency then no, she will not be able to get at driving licence. I got mine 4 weeks ago, I missed taking some paperwork for my husband so we went back the following week to do his. His residency had just run out and we told them that all the paperwork was at the police station and that we were waiting for this to come through but they would not proceed until he had his new residency stamp.

You can only drive here for 3 months on a british licence. If there is an accident then your insurance is invalid if after the 3 months.

hi smithy, she now has a kimlit card, which now counts as full resendency i think , so girne is her next stop and get the form filled up there with someone's help or take the form to someone we know close by then with her passport , license , and kimlit card and 2 passport photos go back and hopefully within 3 days she will get her license

So i assume there's no need to go to leftkosa as her first time applying for turkish license thanks

Why not go to the man who runs the British Residents Society stall at Lambousa Market on Saturday mornings, he has all the information you require to include, translation, forms, and current costs etc. He also has a map showing which office to go to, his information is accurate and upto date.

Make sure when applying for your first licence thatt they transfer all driving catergories to your TRNC licence, if not you will have to take a test for a moped, minibus e.t.c that you had previously qualified for.
