My lovely Frangiapani is shedding its leaves at a great rate of knots. Is this normal? If not, what can I do? Advice needed please.

Yes they do lose their leaves and become dormant in 'cooler' climates. Perhaps the sudden drop in temperature over the past week has caused it, or maybe it knows something about the coming winter that we don't!!!

Don't worry, it should come back next spring.

the leaves on ours shredded the other day in the storm think it was the hale stones. Leaves always fall off in winter but don't usually shred

They always end-up as dead looking sticks through the winter, don't worry, they'll be back next spring

If you live higher up or it's planted in an exposed position then you may consider protecting the branches in winter, e.g. wrapping them in felt similar to basket liner.

Established frangipani in the ground can cope with the cold(ish) wet winters but those in pots can get waterlogged at this time of year. If its in a pot, move it somewhere to a light - but sheltered spot and keep fairly dry over the cooler months. It is, in my opinion very early in the "winter" to lose leaves - mine is 14 mths old and in a pot, but still full of leaves, it could be you have overwatered?
