I wonder if the immigrants to the UK make a list of positives and negatives before they come here. And how would we feel when we read the comments ! But I suppose it's better to do it before you come rather than when you get here.

Actually I was confused by the conflicting posting on this Forum hence my desire to get some sort of balanced view whether it be negative or positive and it would have made no difference to my moving to TRNC. Personally I think there would be quite a lot of negative comments about the UK at the present time.

positive - you get your deeds on day of purchase, persons dumping large lorry loads of builder's shite face imprisonment, infrqctructure, decent restaurants, shops, mega stores, no water shortages, no land disputes, no power cuts every time there is a storm, no freexing houses in the winter....

smwredd, I am sur you will love it when you move to NC, what more does any one want but to wake up each day! expecially if its always sunny! You get problems where ever you go, so dont be put off by the negative ones. Take a good look at what happens here in GB as begonia has said.....

Loads of people have lost their homes re the recession and its raining here!! How depressing is that. xx

mess 2 - if you rent here rather than buying, have deep pockets to combat the rocketing prices and you can hack the 3rd world life style, litter, shite dumped everywhere, lack of infrastructure, can hack the 3 or 4 months were your villa is freezing each year, little to do in the evenings other than booze and watch so so entertainers - you'll love it...

Well you clearly made the wrong decision Neg Nick ! Had you been to Cyprus and did you do some research before you bought ? Perhaps the South would have suited you better. Is there a Mrs Neg Nick ? Poor woman !!

There you go then smwredd, look at how everon found GB, you will be fine, dont always listen to the moaners.

I really think that if some where to tell you how they found GB when moved back from NC they might just tell you a different story, GB has moved on quite quickly,..... into more depressing stuff than NC! ....

Dizzy...I do not find it depressing back here in the home land as you well know. Like NN says I do not have to worry about power cuts, water shortages and the likes thereof. The weather is perfect for me,never been a sun worshipper besides it gives you skin cancers. There have been numerous people in the TRNC who have sold up and moved back here because they can no longer afford to live there. Its a lovely place for a holiday once, but i doubt if many people return.A lot of people say its the best thing they have ever done by moving there, but most of them are retired people who need a bit of sun for the aching bones, but I bet secretively they would come home if they could. As they say Dizzy "every one to their own" and you know where I prefer...

My advice for what its worth is Rent first then decide, dont make the mistake of buying and then regret it, give yourself time, the weather is glorious, well its raining now, but whoopee we need it
