Is it correct that your Advocate can apply for your 'Permission to Purchase' without the police disclosure certificate but send the certificate at a later date ? Thanks in advance !

I was told so by my solicitor (2nd one) Although I do have one, he said without hesitation, that it is not needed.

It is not a necessaty, but will move things along a little quicker with one. One less job for them to do. Maybe one day they will get us to do the whole process ourselves then everything will be efficient.

If it helps to move things along quicker I will get it from my previous solicitor! Most of them say it is needed, but will ask mine again next week when there.

No doubt someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I think the police report has only been a requirement for ptp in the last year or so?

I had to submit one and that was November 2005. Just found out I have been turned down. Estate Agent says not 'refused' only 'frozen.' Only charged me (out of the goodness of his heart) £500 to submit one form. I've done the enquiring as to progress. He did'nt mention that the army camp next door would be a problem when I was buying.

Hi Martin sorry to hear your news. Where do you stand now? Can you appeal if you don't get your PTP and does it state why you have been turned down? SUE

Martin You should ask for your money back, there is no fees involved in submitting an application for PTP
