Parked our car for a few hours near the mosque in Ozankoy last night. This morning I have found the offside of the car had been badly 'keyed' in four places and graffiti gouged into the bonnet.

Are we just unlucky or have these mindless little 'cherubs' imported this nasty habit from UK too?

The new play area behind the mosque is a magnet for the local youths of course, but the scooter revving, wheely pulling idots that were around last night were obviously bored.

Be warned. Your car could be next

Hi Rick, I was parked in the same area last night and just checked my car and it has been keyed as well. I have spoken to a friend who is a local to see if he can find out more about this so we can nip it in the bud.

The graffiti on the bonnet was 'universal': "SEX V", in four inch high letters, so no clues there.

Yes, it would be good to stop this mindless damage asap. I won't hold my breath though.

Not the first time, unfortunataly. Two people I know have had their cars keyed in vandal-free TRNC.

Same happened in our street in the UK, 20 odd cars vandalised, only 2 owners complained to the police... the rest knew it would be a waste of time. I once witnessed two yobs throw paint over a car and I could identify them. Rang the police.. they didn't even take a statement!

Reported this incident to Muhktar's office, Zoey has heard of similar cases recently. Then off to Girne police station for a statement and copies of all paperwork, mine and the car's. They were sympathetic and not happy about this kind of thing on their 'patch'.

Can Sigorta next with all details and their assessor came out this afternoon, took photo's of the damage and copies of all paperwork again........

Everyone helpful and friendly. What a lovely way to spend a wet Monday............not.
