| If the PRV scales up it certainly will possibly not work. To remove scale, put about a 1/4 small veding cup of sudium bisulphate (the acid you use in your pool) in a 2t water tank about every 3-4 weeks (assuming in full time use). This will over the next few months remove the scale, and prevent it re-occuring, and soften your water. Remeber, if the PRV is calcified, so is your immersion element, wash m/c element, combi boiler etc. If you want to see how much free calcium there is in the water, take a look in the bottom of your water tank, you will see all the white stuff there. |

| hi keith, i pressume you have a thermostat on your hot water system,i.e storage tank, have you checked the immersion heater setting as too high a setting can cause problems with scaleing, up if not try turning the thermostat down i would recommend a temperature of about 60 to 65 degrees this wont get rid of the lime scale but may help too reduce the problem, also turn down the temperature on your boiler,s thermostate for hot water if you have a boiler that is.as you dont need boiling hot water just to add cold water to it.as to brian24001s reply i would also go along with that.hpoe the information helps |
