I have an apartment at Olive Grove in Lapta which is behind Flippers. I got an e-mail yesterday from someone on site to inform me a cable had been run from a resturant called the Asmali which is opposite the site over the path, past the pool, across the gardens then into two meters.

I contacted my property manager in the TRNC who has taken photo's and will report this to Kibtek on Monday.

My question is for anybody who may know,

1. Will Kibtek do anything?

2. Will they bill the resturant for the electric which they have stolen?

3.What are the chances of a refund?

4. Will Kibtek report it as a fraud to the Police?

Something tells me nothing will be done about this Restaurant Ismali stealing electric.

So in answer to your 4 questions....

NO, NO, NO, NO.

Now if it was a foreigner doing the deed, probably locked up and deported.

Buy a step-up transformer, disconnect all through put to your abode, switch it on and watch the firework display coming from the restaurant!

Can you arrange with someone on site to fit a padlock to the boxes and maybe cut out a small viewing window so meters can be read by Kibtek, that is of course after they pull the cables connected to the restaurant out.

Why have the restaurant connected to your electric?

Has anyone asked them for an explanation and to remove the cable?

This used to happen regularly on our site by the workers just shoving wires into any electric box nearest the job they were doing, it wound me up so much I went and pulled out thier wires and told them to get the boss to bring a genny. Then we caught workers syphoning water out of a neighbours pool to mix thier cement with a hose. Bloody bare faced cheek. I know it is not the workers fault as they have hardly any tools to do their job, its the developers building on the cheap.

this is just taking the piss!surely youve paid the kibtek deposit for the meter and are being billed for any electric used via the meter,go and see the restaurant owner and tell him to get his electric from elsewhere!Get the box ready for a couple of padlocks and get it disconnected about 8pm on a saturday evening just when they need it the most!!Infact if it were mine i'd do a quicker job with insulated wire cutters and cut the first 10ft of cable away.they'll soon get the message.

Thats a brilliant idea, that is unless you are the one arrested for damaging the restaurant owners cable, double standards in operation here.
