The last paragraph says it all.........

The old Cypriots have thrown their last round of dice. If they win, Cyprus will be united and will enjoy all the advantages of being a member of the EU. However, if the game is lost, it will be time for the old men to leave the coffee house in order to let a new game begin. This time, the end of the negotiations game will not be peaceful unification, but peaceful separation. In either case, a new era for Cyprus will begin.

Ive just ploughed through the whole article - bit deep!! But very interesting, and I opt for peaceful separation too! Agree with Paul - why dont they get on with it now, stop all this putting off til x or y happens - it just drags on and on.

I think you're missing one other possible outcome of the failure of the talks and that is a Turkish take over of some sort. Currently they pay the bills and I guess they'll want something for that. If Turkey gets into the EU then there'll probably be little difference, but what if Turkey becomes more radically Muslim?

I think that the article was spot on and reflects a great deal of indepth thinking and reasoning by the authors.Malsancak is also not far off the mark. For instance, it is not widely known but the TK.Goverment ( for that read AK Party ) have prohibited the Distribution,Consumption and Sale of Alcohol in the Asian side of Istanbul and also around certain areas of central Ankara. If this is not Islam at work by stealth then tell me what it is.

Hi All,

Can you guys not think past seperation or unity.?

Is there a total lack of creative thinking on this subject? Think outside the box!

I don't think that here is any chance of Turkey getting into the EU. But I wish there was. I'm all for separation, but i'm not a TC
