WARNING: 039 calls - be wary!

Yesterday, I received another (prefix) 039 call on my mobile - apparently this is a scam from Bulgaria and you can lose all your credit should you answer or call back - delete immediately - dikkat!

I get these at least 3 times a week, I just cut the call straight off.

Just had 2 calls, each time it rings twice then stops.

It happened to me last week. I noticed an unanswered call from +359.... and I thought it was a call I was waiting from sout Cyprus which starts with +357..... So I rang the phone and a young girl's voice in bad Turkish said that she is calling from Bulgaria (in fact it was me who called her) and that she was in trouble. The penny dropped straight away and I hanged up. the call lasted about ten seconds. I wonder how much that cost me.

Strange thing is they phoned both hubby's and my phone minutes apart! Coincidence or do they have a list of peoples names and numbers? Our numbers are totally different.

Does this mean that someone in TRNC is in cahoots with the *scammer(s) in Bulgaria, otherwise how did *they get their 'portfolio' of TRNC telephone numbers to start with?

It may seem a silly idea but, if you dont make calls on your mobile outside the TRNC then just get international calls barred on your mobile, that way you cannot fall into the trap.

Its a bit worrying, had calls but ignore if I dont recognise the number
