Hi Clair Welcome

You are half way there with level 3 in Hairdressing, there is Nulten Hairdresser here who takes on part time workers, but if not they will sure help you with finding work.

Good luck

Sheila

I guess any school in Esentepe will be a Turkish Cypriot school where all or certainly most of the lessons will be in Turkish.

There are some English language schools take a look at the following links for a little more info

Hi Clair. If schooling in Esentepe does not work out then probably the Turkish Cypriot school in Catalkoy would be your nearest. Our two grand-daughters and several other English children go there and all are doing well.

Hi Clair. Obviously they were slow to grasp what the teachers were saying in the early days. However, quite often they were able to sit next to another English child who had more experience which helped a great deal. It also helps for English parents to know Cypriots who have children at the school, particularly in the same class as information from teachers about holidays, outings, etc. are not always understood until the children are fluent in Turkish.

Hi Clair. The name of the school is Catalkoy Ilkokulu (Catalkoy First School) and it is a state school. I don't know if they will want evidence of your residency permit; our daughter married a Cypriot so the question probably did not arise. I know they are mainly only taking children from their catchment area now as they have fewer places available. I presume you would be in that area. The school is on the west side of the village. When you are here you might want to consider Turkish lessons from a local for Sam. Several of the English children have benefited from that. Going to a new school is bad enough but in another country with another language they need all help available.

Any more questions just shout.

I do hope you do extensions because I am getting a bit thin on top!
