Hi All

A bit of a long-shot I know, but if anyone hears of a Dell laptop found on a bus in the Lefkosa area, please could you let me know.

My son left his backpack on a bus, and of course it had our laptop in it!!!! Any information would be extremely welcome.

Thanks

Karen

It may be too late for the unfortunate "livethedream", but a lost or stolen laptop can be found. All you have to do is install a small piece of (free) software (available versions for Windows, Linux and Macintoshes) and your laptop can be traced. (On a Mac it is even possible to make a snapshot from the thief or "finder" via the built-in camera!). Many anti-theft solutions can be found here http://is.gd/4O15Q . It can happen to all of us, so be prepared...

It may NOT be to late for "livethedream"! I found several tips and tricks to trace a stolen or lost laptop without pre-installed anti-theft software - start reading here: http://is.gd/4O1FB .

"livethedream" I let you know here if I find other ways.

Do you have any other info, model number, serial number or any distinguishing marks etc?

Thank you to everyone for their advice and good wishes. Sorry it's taken so long to reply to you all, but have been without the internet!!! My best advice for anyone else - don't let your son take the laptop on the bus!!! Stuff happens, but thanks again.
