peace in cyprus was established in july 1974 when the turkish armed forces stopped the mad GCs junta backed maltia slaughtering the turkish cypriots. Q . scince the intervention how many turkish or greek cypriots have perrished?

the point is if the man in the street aproves of statues like tho one in the photo and the sticker on the lamp post what chance is there ?????????????? this statue of a bomber is right at a set of trafic lights where yu can not miss it !!,,,,,,and is flood lit at night !!

To be controversial, they will probably say the same thing about all the statues of Attaturk, the flag at Taskent etc.



Personally I think the flag is superb and for those that have not been, go to the village of Taskent and see the small Martyrs Museum. Then drive into the field right underneath the flag it is a great photo. Then you will realise why TRNC must remain independant from GC's.



Also FS, hope you feel better. I know from great experience you never forget and I am sure you will have lots of pics to look back on later.

Is this the statue of Billy the Bomber ? How can any country erect a statue like this and then expect to earn respect from others, is this now the EU stance on things in Cyprus as South Cyprus is now a member.

Problem is hattikins the only international press that is universally viewed is from the south. So anything that comes form South Cyprus is accepted by Greece and by default the EU. ie the poor GC were the ones persecuted.



I note from earlier post that nobody has showed interest in Taskent and the Big Flag. Does that mean everyone has been and knows all about it. I think not, it is as much apathy from north as the aggressive attituded from the south.
