Is this spelt right for the Translation for Fragile so that they will understand at the Dock/Airport for delicate Items

KOLAY KIRILIR

I have got one roll of Fragile tape but they might not understand/read even though its in red so thought I would write this on my boxes. Any ideas

Any help please

Sheila,

Try KOLAY KIRILAN or KIRILGAN (no dots on the i's) That means fragile/easily breakable, according to my dictionary.

"KIRILGAN" is the word but why don't you use the internationally accepted symbol for it which is a broken glass.Have a look here http://images.google.com.tr/images?hl=en&source=hp&q=fragile+sign&gbv=2&aq=2&oq=fragile

Hi Elko

I used loads of Red Fragile tape when bringing my shipment to the TRNC but it didnt stop things getting thrown about and broke, so thought that putting the proper wording on might save this from happening again.

many thanks for the options

Put an arrow pointing "this way up" on each face of the box, make sure they all face in different directions so nobody can be wrong - tried that with a very fragile bit of glass I sent - no problems, it got here without any damage at all. My guess was that everyone who handled it put it down upside down and just lost interest. By the way, only did it for a laugh!

writing "Fragile" in any way or language will make no difference. You better pack them better.
