Hi NN

Hope all is well with you and yours. I did post on one of John Muc's threads, but unfortunately his reply was deleted by Simbas before I could read it. No loss there - just glad he's gone.

All the best to you and G

Sheila - exactly what I thought. As you say, his style of posting was very familiar to me too, but couldn't place it.

PS Still waiting for that e-mail - only joking, I know you're up to your eyes.

Garry hoping he can convince him to invest in TRNC - possibly buy the place with the money he has....

I thought Charlie Mungers only sister was childless. Charlie never had a brother. Where does Gary fit in with the family?

Jeannie - 'Sheila - exactly what I thought. As you say, his style of posting was very familiar to me too, but couldn't place it.'

I thought it was the style of the idiot Mackaozy - remember him? The fool with the silly 'ex-SAS' on his profile!

Jeannie, there was another clown who put 'ex-SAS' on his profile, then suddenly changed it to something more innocuous. Unlikely that any ex SAS guy would want anyone to know about it!

kaiserphil - exactly. Of course, if you were a member/ex-member of a crack regiment like the SAS, you'd really want to advertise it on somewhere this this forum, wouldn't you??

Problem is, we do seem to get more than our fair share of "Walter Mitty's" on here. Do you imagine, because so many suffer from this delusional affliction, they believe that a lot of us cannot see through them?

It's very worrying

Exactly Jeannie, and I believe the greatest Walter Mitty of all (Maybe Thurber used him to create Walter) is one of the best known members of this and other boards, under a variety of names.

He also dropped a hint in one of his posts about 'sf'.

I assumed he meant science fiction!

Hans, I must agree that we do seem to have a disproportionate number of high ranking British army officers on here. I thought it was just coincidence!!

kaiserphil message 22.

Thank you for yet another conundrum! I have someone in mind but must admit I am a little baffled by the 'sf' reference? Could you provide any clues please?

With thanks

kaiserphil. Many thanks - he was, of course, on my shortlist

From what I have seen, he doesn't seem to be doing too well on 'the other forum' either. Not sure how long he's off that one for at the moment, but needless to say, there are some, who post on here and on there and do not know the history, who have been taken in!!

Perhaps I should have said "long list" rather than "short list" given the number of aliases!

kaiserphil - he does, indeed, seem a funny one, to say the least. I must admit that up until a couple of years ago, I thought he was basically OK, if a little off the wall in his views (and his rather tall stories, re: previous careers, etc.)

However, since then, I have spoken those who actually know this person (I have never had 'the pleasure') and these have been extremely harsh. I have no reason to think those persons were either lying or exaggerating. As you say, doubtless the 'fan club' will be coming out of the woodwork any time now.

I don't think he was Pike ( great friend to those who have no idea who he is or what he thinks of his fellow countrymen) but Mackaozy does spring to mind, well shut of him anyway.
