As Simon Cowell gets to sign the winner, that is probably the person(s) over 3 months with consistently the most votes, he is gauranteed to sign an extremely popular act.
Most of those that buy the winners' single/album/tour tickets, etc, will already have spent quite a bit on voting. So Simon Cowell cannot lose, he knows thay will spend more on their favourite act.
As the acts gets reduced, some viwers favourites get knocked out, so another act becomes the viewers favourite. Absolutely no risk.
Can you imagine watching England in the World Cup Finals. They win their first couple of games, then get knocked out. I then decide to support Spain, because Torres scored against Man U (as did JT yesterday!), then Spain gets knocked out, so I now support Italy, (us Brits could never support the Germans/Argies) so if Italy get knoocked out, there's only France and Brazil left!
Now, let me think of a TV programme where I cannot lose? |
