Playing Andrea Bocelli at full blast 10am Sunday morning much to the annoyance of my neighbour who decided to call the Police for noise abatement; plod duly arrived informing me the law was that no music was to be played on a Sunday, anywhere! That's a new one on me!

Bit of a selfish act Richard. Is this the first time you have done this to your neighbour?

Brinsley,

Don't you know yet that the police are straight out of fascist Spain or Nazi germany, the are a law unto themselves and answerable to no one, the make laws up as the go along. It's something like the litter and dog cruelty we have to live with, just try and focus on the positives.

We have an alcoholic Turkish neighbour who is continually at all hours of the day and night shouting and arguing with the other locals and family. The police have been called many times but he obviously has friends in high places as they usually have a coffee with him then leave.

Bochelli is a second rate opera singer, having said that I do listen to him but can't watch him.

A coulpe of years the police turned up just before midnight to stop a private party we were having around the pool, they did mention that music had to stop at midnight on a Saturday. Isn't it the same in UK though,

I believe the music laws state that music can't go into a Sunday.

Went to a party myself in Lapta somewhere on a Sunday, and the neighbours called the police as it was a Sunday.

I wish all these rules were written down somewhere, so people would know what they could and couldn,t do.

RE msg 7, BigMart (...) Don't you know yet that the police are straight out of fascist Spain or Nazi germany (...)

I don't think my neighbours will stay too long after I start a war of attrition (already started), they only moved in 3 weeks ago and give them another 3 until they move out. Bastards!

Wealthy TC's. Students who play music well into the early hours then of course want to sleep through the day and have no appreciation for the classics. I'll be giving them a lesson in classical NZ behaviour!

I feel annoyed that you see nothing wrong with playing your music 'full blast' on a Sunday morning. I am presuming that you are talking 'cranked up mega loud'?

I hope your neighbours can enjoy a more peaceful Sunday morning in future.

Not heard of headphones Richard?

Be a bit more friendly and maybe the neighbours would be nicer to you.

You mentioned giving them a taste of some classical NZ behaviour.

Did you bring your own sheep with you

msg 22, the music wasn't "full blast". I live opposite him and I never heard it. Could hear the bloody dog that lives next door to him though.

aha, this now changes the whole nature of the story. Brinsley wasn't playing the music loud, therefore the neighbours were being unreasonable and police time was being wasted?

We can still hear the builders working around here on Sundays. Or has that been legalised now? No 'loud' classical music, but concrete mixers and disc cutters are ok then?

And as for the idiots in the cars with their stereo's so loud the buildings shake as they go by. Grrr!

NC doesn't sound as peaceful as some people on here have made it out to be.
