Great, so where do I sign up to do my military service which would declined on medical grounds but would've been seen to be willing?!

apparently you can buy yourself out of military service and there are rumours that people who wouldn't normally be called up because of age, for example, are only called up in order to get them to buy themselves out.

Personally I'd insist on doing the service. What a laugh. Just what would they do with you? Can't speak a word, just smile. All very Norman Wilson. Looked after, 3 meals a day, uniform and a roof over ones head, can't be bad.
