i need to close the gap from my hall into the lounge its a big area and i have been quoted 1000ytl to do it. Maybe a folding door would be cheaper ? Any ideas?

If you want something to prevent heat loss in the winter have you thought about putting up thick curtains? We had this problem but we have an arch which would be difficult to put a door into. The curtains work well in the summer too if we need to put air con on. When the curtains are drawn it prevents the hot/cool air disappearing into the rest of the house.

We went down the heavy curtain route and they work well and of course they are a lot cheaper.

I've got two sets of pine and glazed folding doors which we have just taken out. You are welcome to them if they will help - although you would need to sort of transport
