Old Firm switch up for discussion

Celtic and Rangers would be invited to join the second-tier league

Proposals to accept Glasgow rivals Celtic and Rangers into an expanded Premier League will be put forward for consideration this week.

Bolton chairman Phil Gartside will pitch plans for a two-tier league of between 36 to 40 teams on Thursday.

It is understood there would be a top tier of 18 clubs, with promotion and relegation to and from the league.

Scottish teams should not be allowed in an ENGLISH league and neither should Welsh teams for that matter.

It's about time we got rid of Cardiff and Swansea!

Bolton trying to save their own skins from relegation this ! people should see through this ! any attempt to ban promotion and relegation would turn football into a joke !

I agree Cardiff and Swansea are about a English as Celtic and Rangers.

I think that there should be 2 top tiers

One with just 16 teams these teams should not enter the carling cup 2 relegation places and 1 playoff place should be available

The second tier would be composed of 20 teams with relegation and promotion based on the same roughly as it is now the top 2 would gain automatic promotion the next 4 would all play for the right to play the team that finnished 3rd from bottom in the top tier

The euopean place offered to the carling cup winner should just go to the 7th place team in the top tier

IMHO

The premiership is already split into 2 divisions with a massive gap

there is the top 8 who between them are fighting to win,get into the champions league or into europe and the other 12 are happy to avoid relegation

The Spurs gazette (Cyprus Today) neatly summed Bolton up today.
