Black men and Turkish Cypriot Women ?

Being that another poster has raised the issue of English men being married to Turkish Cypriot women, is the incidence of black men being married to Turkish Cypriot women commonplace?......is it still taboo?, and what is the general feeling amongst Turkish Cypriot men in seeing their daughters or sisters being married to black men?....I was just wondering.

Aere you referring to British Black men or black men of any origin, ie. nationals from African countries.



I just think the Brit connection could have a bearing on this.

hi ocean

in cyprus its not common place because there are not many blacks other than in the winter in famagusta a lot attend the uni from nigeria and other african countries

but in london where there are a lot of turkish cypriots and a lot of blacks from either from the west indies or africa mixed a lot because they had one thing in common back in the 40's 50's 60's and 70's they were the ethnic minority and also that their countries were under british rule, so a lot of mixed raced relationships did take place and to date, thats why parents and sibblings did not mind that much on the relationship and i know many turkish girls who are in mixed race relationships and their dads,mums dont mind

Thanks for your response,very interesting indeed. It looks to me that by the lack of postings on this topic suggests that people have opinions on the issue, but would rather keep these to themselves, or maybe its too much of a controversial topic to discuss.



Whatever the reason, my opinion is that the British Blackman/Turkish Cypriot woman issue is one for the closet!!
