Woke up richer this morning

This morning i woke up $400,000,00 richer courtesy of Western Union . As i use this facility regularly , i saw no problem opening the e-mail i received this morning . Big mistake ! contacted Western Union to inform them that i had no knowledge about this transaction , they went on to tell me they have sent no such e-mail . Customers beware !!!

I get emails regularly telling me I have won at least half a million and a car! I email back and tell them I have passed their email on to the Fraud Squad in Scotland Yard...works everytime and I never get a repeat email.

Be careful if you reply to emails like these!



By replying, you're confirming that your email address exists. Spammers sell each other lists of validated emails, so it ends up with you receiving even more. The best bet is simply to delete it, or, in the case of fake bank emails, forward it on to the real bank.

I never open e mail that I dont recognise the sender, but Pat its hard when as you say you deal with Western Union

I get at least one a week telling me that some African prince or other has died with no family and that this solicitor has decided that I am the best person to receive his estate that is worth around £200,000,000. All I need to do is give him my details and he will split the money 60/40.

I would suggest using a spam blocker. Can't remember the name of the one I used to use because my ISP has its own. Best bet go to http://www.download.com and type in spam blocker. Can get some free ones that are good.

If you check properties most of then come from West Africa but apear to be UK or Spain.
