hello CarrieRBag

that could be kewbord broken down, or if its just in word you can set the ward to default setting

go to start->run-> winword /a that should restore ward to default setting

if its not

open MS word go to TOOLS then to OPTIONS then to the EDIT tab and rechecked the "typing replaces section tab".

EVERYBODY has a computer problem, Carrier - just too shy to ask!

REAL problem here is Internet speed, or rather lack of it....I don't think you can deal with that!

Samelemine/Msg 1:

This is extremely generous of you - an unprecedented gesture!

When I am typing (one fingered symphony!) on my laptop (mousepad activated) the cursor is frequently jumping to another position in the text - always back. This happens also when writing a 'Word' document, or an email. It only started to do this recently..... any ideas, please?

Thank you for replying so promptly, mr. samlemine!

My laptop is an HP compaq nx9020 running Windows XP.

I'll try to explain better:

For instance, when I am typing in this 'reply box', for no apparent reason the cursor will jump to another position, always back, in the text - I'm not touching the fn 'function' key, or any of the 'f' keys, and I'm not aware of rubbing the 'mouse pad' by mistake, or anything. This problem also occurs, and frequently, when I'm typing a Word doc., or an email. Could it be a virus? I use AVG (free!) version 9.0 - the latest, and AVG does regular scans and has 'reported' no problem.

I would be so relieved if you could diagnose the problem, because it's most annoying, as I'm always getting text just typed ending up somewhere in a previous block of text....

samlemine,

I have upgraded from Vista to 7 and when I run treesize it is showing 13.2 GByte usage for the windows folder.

Is this about right or are there still some reserve parts of Vista left behind and if so, what woould be the best way to remove them??

yrys88/Msg 15:

I have downloaded the update file you suggested and restarted the computer - I'm not sure if the problem is cured yet - will have to do a bit more typing!

When I logged onto the Kaspersky 'free' scanner, it says to write the suspect file in the box - weird! I have hundreds of files and file types - that would take ages! I recently downloaded AVG 9.0, and this regularly scans the computer, yet both versions 8.5 and now 9.0 have not 'reported' any virus.

Ah - the cursor just jumped again to the beginning of the sentence as I was writing the last line of the above paragraph...

Any more suggestions?

BTW - Thanks to you and also 'samlemine' for your advice!

hello proger1

yes its normal the size of iso file is 2.xx and on the HDD 13 or 14, but you can also check your recycle bin if its empty or not , and delete temp file in : go to run %tmp% and delete all files

Thanks samlemine,

I have already cleared the temp file cache and the recycle bin. Just wanted confirmation that win 7 expanded to this size when installed

Can anyone recommend a competent /inexpensive repairer for my Epsom printer.

I was putting in a printable disc and the printer swallowed it and now wont work.

I have peered into every orifice but cannot see the disc. Any ideas?

Samlemine/Msg 16:

No, the cursor 'jumping' problem is not fixed.

I've just run a full AVG 9.0 virus scan: result - no virus detected.

Any further suggestions gratefully received!
