Is there a particular border crossing where the authorities are generally more lenient or is it a bit of a lottery?

Never had any problems at the Beyarmudu/Pergamos crossing, maybe I was lucky.

Ripoffrok,

I always use the Metehan crossing and have found the authorities very friendly,

Never had a problem at Metehan & never been searched once since the border opened. I think you only have problems if you break the rules (& get caught).

Don't know the names of the crossings but I've used the Lefosa (driving one) many times no problems. Always friendly. The one in Gazimagusa once, no problems

I have had the misfortune of a few frosty Greeks at Metehan when going south of late. I always make an extra effort to be civil and polite.

Maybe its the time of year!!!!
