News agencies in UK reporting that Orams have won their case. The Greek petitioner and his lawyers have said they will appeal to the Human Rights Courts in EU. However they are no longer able to use ECHR for this case!!! Congratulations to the Orams for their fortitude in fighting this case. The TRNC estate agencies are already reporting a 'flurry' of people buying today, that were formerly holding on to see the results of the case

This is now getting confusing, does anyone know what the outcome is? I so hope the above post is true for the Orams sake. For them to go on waiting would be unbearable

Richard I have just returned from TRNC and have been out there for the last 2 months, was out there last year for 3 months, and as I have said, I have just bought in Lapta last week. I don't know why you are not getting the news there? Have the Greeks blocked it... can they??? If you go onto google search and type in ORAMS CASE it will bring you all the links. I kid you not!!!

I have to admit to being humour challenged on this one. It's an extremely important and emotive case that affects all too many people. I accept we can all make mistakes but to initiate and then continue the thread despite being challenged leaves my sense of humour cold.

Seeing that the case did not finish until this afternoon (Friday, the 13th!) it is impossible for Estate Agents to report a flurry of activity, cos they would all be shut.

That was a very CRUEL thing to post, and ho won earth anyone could have said that to mislead us all, is worthy of a court case in itself.

The latest news I got is that YESTERDAY, Cherie Booth was going for 'not in the public interests' - which was an expected line, but that was YESTERDAY.

I nearly rang the Orams, but felt it there was any truth in victory, they would let us know - and, it could well be up to 3 weeks before a judgement is given, so was said to me today by a Q.C.

But , wouldn't it have been lovely!!!!!!

Of course I make mistakes - lots of times, but I try not to - in fact many of my friends can confirm I am very trying! But, I am a great believer in checking facts before opening mouth, or putting fingers to keyboard! That is why I said it is 'cruel' cos I am sure lots of people had a moment of great relief.

But of course as they say 'it takes a man to apologise (or woman)' so that is good and relieves the 'cruelty' and it certainly produced a flurry of activity on the internet! Cyberspace did well, even if our emotions didn't!

Flopsie made an honest mistake and then obviously got a bit carried away with the excitement as we all probably would have. Anyone who can read properly can see that. Get off Flopsie's back you who know who you are. I Actually thought it was quite amusing until the doom merchants got involved!!

my fluffy tail is spinning like a top! I have eaten that many carrots I look more like a bliddy beaver than a wascally wabbit... I have been playing truth or dare with the car headlights for the last 3 hours, but they keep missing me! Was going to build a hutch in Lapta, but now my paws are trembling with fear..... there are some very aggressive humans over there arent there...... Is going down to the butchers to offer myself up as wabbit pie!

I have looked and looked there is nothing for todays case

all i found was this

"LONDON based human rights group Embargoed! and other British Turkish Cypriot groups criticised Prime Minister Gordon Brown for meeeting Greek Cypriot President Christofias yesterday (11 November) with the Orams property case hearing due at the Court of Appeal this week.

The case, which involves British couple David and Linda Orams being sued by a Greek Cypriot over their TRNC property, has huge significance for both Cyprus and tens of thousands of British citizens.

The groups wrote to the Prime Minister asking for the meeting with Mr Christofias to be cancelled, urging the British Government to act with more sensitivity on the issue.

Embargoed! chair Fevzi Hussein said, “To say we are disappointed with Gordon Brown is an understatement. Just what does the British PM think he is playing at by meeting Mr Christofias on the first day of the Orams hearing? It smacks of political interference by the Gre

Flopsie

10/10 for entertainment value.

You wouldn't happen to be a blonde rabbit!

Easy mistake to make I have done something similar before telling my hubby that a certain player was leaving Rangers turned out he left a year ago!! Reading old reports is easy to do.

I'll shake your hand when back over for giving me a good laugh.

I have adjusted the title of your post to save any further excessive partying by anyone who doesn't read the thread.

It's easy to make mistakes and then feel a fool. Some years ago my daughter rang up to say Vanessa Phelps off the tv had died. The news spread quite fast from one house and work place to another. The next day she was on tv alive and kicking. It seems my daughter had dreamt this news, but was convinced it was fact. Don't hang your head in shame in your burrow for too long Flopsie, I'm sure Mr McGreggor is out of town....

It was only a slight, but only slight, case of 'mixingmatoetoes' - better than sitting twiddling one's thumbs while reading some of the boring balderdash that passes for 'subjects' on this forum!
