I would rather buy a gas fire as they give out less odour, in my opinion and are also cheaper to run

My friend always uses parafin heaters, says they give out more heat than the gas fires. The only thing you have to watch is you need the buy decent fuel,a lot of garages get the parafin delivered in a diesel truck so you might end up with some residue, which sometimes causes a smell.I will find out where the best place to buy parafin is.

They work really well although have not used one since had the central heating. Just remember to light it outside before bringing it in and the same when you extinguish it, otherwise the house will be smoked out. Steve

No smell from our paraffin heater. Hated the gas heater, stank to high heaven and made my eyes water.

The garage recommended to us is in Lefkosa,- turn right for Cyprus Life Hospital, and garage is on the right a few hundred yards further down. Apparently, tankers transporting paraffin from the depot are used ONLY for paraffin.

There are a few local garages that have paraffin pumps on the forcourt. I LOVE the smell of paraffin heaters - they remind me of when I was little........ All cosy and warm within, whilst freezing cold outside!!

I use a paraffin heater and they give off quite a lot of heat, just make sure you light it outside. I also have a gas heater which I hate as it smells and makes my eyes water so I wont be using it this winter stick to the paraffin.
