Seriously, by closing it, you may have ensured the subject will die, but on the other hand, the amount of views has shot up. So once again, thanks. http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/26078.asp I totally agree with using email. That was my subtle point about Personal Messages. Regards PC

RE msg 1, pinkchilli: (...) Other Forums have this facility for members to communicate with each other, without others seeing what's written. (...) => Sorry to move this subject from another thread into this one, but communication with other members (and even the rest of the world) has never been easier. Skype (free): write messages, talk 1-to-1, and/or use a built-in or external camera. And there are dozens of (free) message programmes with a lot of options (from MSN, AOL etc etc). I fail to see what a chatroom (all gods help you when you read most of them...) or message facility would add to this Bulletin Board. It's all there already and it's free. If you need some help to get started, just say so and I'll write a short manual here (if the Admins will permit).

I think that Pinkchilli was referring to the personal messages being passed from one member to another on this forum, regarding meet ups - discussing yesterdays lunch etc etc, and that these personal messages would be better served via a PM service.

I know it's corny, but.... Attagirl ( http://www.yourdictionary.com/attagirl# ) Adagirl. You got it in one. Dear DC. It's just my sarcastic British humour. Brits are pretty good at "reading between the lines".

What if for example pinkchilli needed to contact me? I do not display an email address, and neither does pinkchilli, the rules state that you cannot post a personal message: "britvic I need to get in touch about that very important thing." So if there is no PM service how do you get in touch? Vicki

AJ It's not that I don't trust you, because I do. However, I feel that the way you sometimes respond to me, as opposed to the way you respond to others, would not make me feel comfortable sharing my email address with you. However, why don't you address the real issue; Personal Messages? You're usually such a "stickler" for the rules. Have a read of Rule Number 8. Personal Posts, and may I respectfully suggest you spend a little more of your time in that area, rather than wait for someone like me to bring up the problem. Regards PC

AJ. As a forum administrater can you please tell everyone why you allow posts like ' Lunch today at Guidos' when it blatently breaks rule 8 of this forum. Why don't you close threads like this ?

See what happens when someone tries to highlight the fact that a rule has been broken. Tiggy makes a derogatory remark. I have no problem with Guidos Restaurant, nor do I have a problem with Lilli. Lilli has to respond when someone puts up a comment about Guidos, she is polite, that's all. It's the others that turn people against Guidos (threads), when it is no fault of Lilli. She gets so much stick, just for trying to be nice. She is only running a business, not starting World War III. If Izzet wants to allow Personal Posts, then fine, change the rules, but if not, then, as Mods, enforce them, change Izzets mind, or resign. You cannot have your cake and eat it.
