I understand that the TRNC government has pledged that no person purchasing property with TRNC freehold title deeds can have their property taken away. Is this true? (obviously not recognised by the international community)

If true, can you get that in writing from the TRNC governement, or more importantly from the Turkish mainland governement? Has anybody tried?

I read some parliamentary commentary regarding Cyprus (Jan 2007). One of the MP'S mentioned that a Turkish Cypriot asked for his southern cyprus property back. The ROC agreed and moved the existing Greek Cypriots out of the property so that the Turkish Cypriot coud move back in. Is this likely to be true? This seems contrary to an item of the same topic on the news (property and news, jan19th 2007) section on this site, but it was from a member of Parliament in the UK

Would love to think that the TRNC will stand by its words, but just can't see it myself. It has failed to get involved in current property disputes and can't even regulate or deal with all the existing property purchase problems that are so well highlighted.Allows laws to be ignored and broken even by the very people that are supposed to be upholding the law (Solicitors) Sorry but such words do not inspire me with confidence. It will be interesting to see what effect the home buyers pressure groups' protest has next week. I suspect more idle promises from the government.
