We went to the quiz there last monday and it was lovely and warm. They could not do enough for us, great food too. Its on every monday, starts 7pm and proceeds to the Karakum special needs school. The restaurant is in the old Erols place opposite the Muhtars office.

What kind of food do they serve, we took some Turkish friends of ours to the Old Mill only to find all the menu in english and no turkish food on the menu, my Turkish friend ordered a chicken dish but didn't realise it also contained bacon.

Thank you all for your kind comments. We are still developing the menu but just as a matter of interest we will not be using any pork or pork products in our food. On Friday nights we are continuing the Fish and Chip nights that were extremely popular, that is traditional english Fish and chips however you can also have fish barbecued on our ocakbasi. If you don't want to eat in, you can come and collect, but the emphasis will be on Tuirkish/Cypriot, Mediterranean food. This week for the quiz night we are serving fresh made moussaka with salad and hommous all for 12tl. Look forward to welcoming you soon....Tel nos: 0533 875 30 40 Francesca

or Tel no: 0533 840 96 89 - Bostan.

Lostfound,

Erol did not sell, he just moved into a property that is family owned with greater parking facilities and larger eating area's, where he is still currently running a super restaurant.

Erol moved up from there years ago, there have been several other people in there since!

We were at the quiz last night and had a great time, mousaka, salad and chips or chicken. Thanks Bostan, Francesca and Brian - we had a good night.

Went to the quiz last night. Did not win, but the winners the "Bookworms or Bookstore or similar donated their winnings of 100TL to the charity. Nice touch and well done. Only complaint was that the fire was too hot and we had to change tables away from the fire. Nice complaint....rather be too hot than too cold. Food was also very good and fresh.

We tried out Bostans last night and have to say it was very, very good. Sad though, we were the only ones in there. Chatted to Francesca for quite a while and very impressed with her and how she wants to develop the restaurant. The aim is to offer more traditional cuisine which is so nice given that most restaurants offer exactly the same menus - bog standard kebabs. Very impressed with the mezes and the fact that they asked if we wanted any of them replenished - nice touch! Lamb chops were excellent. The place is lovely and warm with open fire and food cooked on bbq in the room. Going again on Tuesday to sample the Kleftico, which has to be ordered beforehand. Looking forward to it. Hope that it is successful because it will make a very welcome change from the norm.

Hi, Thanks again for the kind comments, the Quiz Night is taking a 'natural break' over Xmas and New Year but normal service will be resumed on the 11th January so we hope to see lots of you here...helpful if you could call to give us an idea on numbers .... but either way we will be happy to see you. We are also going to be holding Turkish Lessons (teacher Tash) on Wednesday evenings and possibly Saturday mornings, he doesn't have anymore than eight in a class - the cost is 15tl a session, we are lucky to get him as he is in great demand but please call me first 0533 875 30 40. Happy New Year from both myself and Bostan if you are passing by pop in and see us !!

Hi, Bostan and myself (Francesca) just want to wish everyone a very happy and prosperous New Year, many of our friends and customers are away at present and so I just wanted you to know if you have been coming to the weekly Quiz Night that I went down to hand in the proceeds today, unfortunately everyone had left the building - however I have 'Opened the Box' and will be handing over 355tl which is the running total so far. Hopefully when we recommence properly from the 11th we can carry on supporting them. A special thank you to all those winners that have made a double donation by not taking the 'Pot'.

Happy 2010

Thats a great amount Francesca and I am sure the school will find good use for it. I might look at having a box for them in the Bookshop.

Good luck to Francesca and Bostan for 2010 and their new restaurant in Ozankoy - a lovely warm welcome from both of them makes this a special place to eat, a cosy atmosphere for freshly cooked food and reasonable drinks.

The quiz night is especially worth a visit, an enjoyable meal and a fun quiz thats not to be taken too seriously make this a good evening out ( best to reserve a table) with the proceeds of the quiz going to the special school at Karacum. See you at next mondays quiz
