Ok Just for a bit of fun and without looking it up on the Net try and work out this puzzle. Three switches outside a windowless room are connected to three light bulbs inside the room. How can you determine which switch is connected to which bulb if you are only allowed to enter the room once? (No cheating)

Look through the doorway at which light operates with which switch and then when you are happy walk into the room. Don't tell me there is a door or my whole idea is screwed up !!!

Tootie, I am not sure if I'm clever or most probably I have heard it before and just trawled it from my memory banks. Good one though. Paul

Ok try this one. No cheating its just for fun There is a barrel with no lid and some beer in it. "This barrel is more than half full," said Chuck. "No it's not," say Joe. "It's less than half full." Without any measuring implements and without removing any beer from the barrel, how can they easily determine who is correct?

Message 9 Tilt the barrel until the beer is about to overflow. If the back edge of the beer is below the opposite corner then it is less than half full and vice versa

Have you got it now DD ? Down comes from a duck as in eider down or down filled pillow. Eiffel tower has nothing to do with it, hence latteral thinking. We used to do it with all the new guys on the bar, we made them stand on a bar stool and ask them where they will get down from, if they got it wrong they had to down a pint and buy a round until they got it right or they fell off the stool, most fell including me.
