I have been to the South a few times since being here. I do not know that much about it, hence my question which side is best.

I think both sides have their qualities, in my opinion there is no better side, they both have similar pros and cons. I would also disagree that one side is cheaper than the other (except property is probably more in the south), they both have the same sun, sea and sand. When I go over I tend to spend equal amount of time on both sides. Even though I'm from a NC background I really don't have a preference, to me it's still one island and always will be, with friends on both sides.

The south has less rubbish on roadways The south has tarmac on there roads The south has more street lamps The south don't have the lovely renealt cars everywhere making it look like a third world country The turks are in my opinion better then the Greeks (manners) both sides treat the animals with no love apart from that I like it here in the north. and the beer is very cheap in the north that's why I am here He He !!!!

Don't think I could afford to live in the South! Having been there for a long weekend, prices seemed sky high. Apart from that, I love the North.

I think Birdy hits the nail on the head. There are pros and cons to both sides. It is interesting to hear the thoughts on the "friendliness" of the people. I used to work in the South and intermingled with lots of GC's. On the whole I found them generous and friendly as I do the majority of TC's. It is in the public service sector where both GC's and TC's let themselves down - go to Carrefoure or Lemar and the result is the same, staff with faces like smacked a**es and no interpersonal skills. 'Cypriots' are so alike, maybe that is why they cannot agree on anything ??? Just a thought. Paul

I agree with Laptamike - exactly what my Son (who lives in the south told me) also he added, it is much more beautiful up there. He also pointed out that the towns down there like Limisol and Paphos have no heart (centre) the sprawl along roads/motorways. Also the motorways slice through the towns. Since I have been back, I can see what he means. The people are much more friendly in the North.
